The Wolford-Rosenblum Saxopohone-Piano Duo will serve up “Soup to Nuts: Music for Saxophone & Piano,” featuring their usual eclectic smorgasbord of Baroque to 20th century, Classical to Jazz, with a little poetry thrown in as a garnish. The duo is well known to Santa Cruz audiences for their many previous performances in the Cabrillo College's Distinguished Artist Series, for the Santa Cruz Chamber Players and at First Night Santa Cruz.Dale Wolford and Ivan Rosenblum are celebrating twenty-five years of engaging music-making together and last performed in Santa Cruz five years ago. This concert includes a new "theater piece"--music pieced together with snippets of poetry, song lyrics and Wikipedia definitions, a new transcription and solos for both piano and sax.
The program features music by Telemann, Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Jonathon Lloyd and Gershwin.
