Soul of a People: Writing America's Story is a new documentary produced by Spark Media, an award-winning Washington, D.C.-based production company specializing in issues of social change. Soul of a People tells the story of the Federal Writers' Project, one of the cultural initiatives of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal. San Jose State University librarian Paul Kauppila presents a screening of excerpts from this new documentary, as well as readings from Federal Writers' Project works and a question-and-answer session.
Part of our series Soul of a People: Writing America's Story. Admission is free. This program is supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
