Description

Teatro Vision proudly brings to San Jose, SOLITUDE, an original play by Evelina Fernandez and directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela. Inspired by Mexican novelist Octavio Paz’s landmark work, “The Labyrinth of Solitude.” Described by the Los Angeles Times as “swelling with art, heart and high style…it’s heartfelt emotional core, coupled with Valenzuela’s superb staging, make SOLITUDE a shared pleasure.” SOLITUDE weaves Octavio Paz’s nine essays about Mexican thought and identity into a story of secrets, laughter and explosive mambo. On the day of the historic Los Angeles march of one million in support of immigrant’s rights, Gabriel brings home old friends after the funeral of a mother he hasn’t seen in twenty years. Confessions and rancheras fan old flames as old friends find their way towards a new future.
