Description
Soil, Food Towers, and Salad WallsOn Saturday, January 26, 1 to 3 (new time!), Brian Debasitis will talk about creating great soils for food towers, salad walls, and all your garden needs.
Brian is a Bay-Friendly Qualified Landscape Maintenance Professional as well as an instructor for Bay-Friendly Gardening workshops in Santa Clara County and a Master Composter. He's studied with Dr. Elaine Ingham, founder of Soil Foodweb Inc., on restoration of soil microbiology as a way to grow plants without toxic garden chemicals.
Brian is the owner of Mauby All Natural, whose goal is to provide sensible solutions for healthy lawns, gardens and playing fields without the use of herbicides, fungicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The company creates products that are safe for people and animals, and do not run off into the water supply.
Brian will discuss creating and maintaining high performance, living soils for intensive production:
How to stop treating soil like it's dirt.
How microbiological organisms interact with plants at the root zone.
How healthy living soils protect our air, water and overall health.
The Workshop fee is $30. For members of the California Native Garden Foundation (CNGF), the cost is $25. (Join CNGF at the workshop for $38 and save $10 on this class and 30% on workshops all year!)
Parking is available on Race Street, side streets, St. Leo's parking lot on Garland, and in the Food Basket parking lot on Garland.
