Description

Smokin’ Joe Kubek, born in 1956, grew up in Texas and was playing the blues in Dallas clubs by the age of 14. In the late ‘80s he teamed up with the singer/guitarist Bnois King from Louisiana, whose soul-tinged vocals and jazz-oriented style contrasted well with Joe’s more strident finger and slide techniques. Over the years Smokin’ Joe has played alongside Stevie Ray Vaughan and the “three Kings”: BB King, Albert King, and Freddie King
