Description
When builders erected San Jose's Century 25 theaters, the domes represented the future of movie-going, forsaking classic stylings for something round and new. But as the dome look fell out of vogue, the Jetsonian vibe felt increasingly beat and campy. So in 2009, nostalgic investors revamped the frumpy interior and rebranded it the "Retro Dome," a glitzy home for films from the past. This weekend, they take their show on the road-celebrating the dual anniversaries of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Moulin Rouge. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume and be prepared to sing along to "Oompa Loompa" and "El Tango de Roxane." (JF)
