Description

Lady K and the Kings of Swing are back at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center, together with longtime vocalist Dale Head presenting a complete retrospective of the career of the man known simply as “The Voice”. The band will recreate Sinatra’s early years with the swing bands of Harry James and Tommy Dorsey, then pay homage to the start of his solo career, including his work with Nelson Riddle, and his famous album with Count Basie “Sinatra at the Sands”. Sinatra collaborated with artists such as Antiono Carlos Jobim and others, including the legendary Rat Pack, leaving an indelible mark in history as one of the greatest entertainers of all time. The evening features a live recreation from television appearances, sound clips and photo archives as well as anecdotes and interesting stories from Sinatra’s tumultuous life and career. The band will end their homage to “The Chairman Of The Board” with songs from “The Main Event”, Sinatra’s phenomenal comeback concert at Madison Square Gardens in 1974.
