"Books & Technology: Friends or Foes" at Campbell Heritage Theatre, 1 W. Campbell Ave. (at Winchester Blvd.), Campbell.

Nicholas Carr, author of The Shallows: What The Internet Is Doing To Our Brains, and Robin Sloan, author of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, will be interviewed on stage by Mercury News columnist Mike Cassidy. Co-sponsored by Commonwealth Club Silicon Valley. Welcoming music performed by Westmont Jazz Combo I under the direction of Jesse Sanchez.
Special guest appearance by R. Buckminster Fuller, aka actor Ron Campbell of the San Jose Repertory Theater's one-man show about the futurist and inventor. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. No tickets or reservation required. First come, first seated. Books will be available for purchase and authors will sign after the program.
