Description
The Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival (SVJFF) is launching its month-long Fall Festival on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. with the inspiring film “An Article of Hope,” that traces the poignant story of the Colonel Ilan Ramon, NASA astronaut and son of an Auschwitz survivor, who died in the Columbia Shuttle disaster 10 years ago.His widow, Rona Ramon, who is coming from Israel for the event, and film director Dan Cohen will address the Opening Night audience at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) in Palo Alto following the movie. They will be joined by former NASA astronaut Garret Reisman, who trained with Ramon and made two round trips on space shuttles to the International Space Station.
The SVJFF's slate of 23 hard-hitting dramas, provocative features, fascinating docudramas, and moving documentaries will be screened at the Camera 12 in San Jose, Camera 7 in Campbell and the OFJCC in Palo Alto. Film Festival movies from more than eight countries provide unique insights that raise awareness, spark dialogue and bring the broader Silicon Valley community together.
