Every Monday night for the past six months, Andy Asp and Christopher Appelgren take over The Night Light on Mondays for Shore Leave - a nod to the historic waterfront neighborhood the Night Light calls home - an evening of overlooked music gems including rare punk singles, classic country ballads, and forgotten garage psyche. Sharing DJ duties with DJ TheoKing and othersStarting Monday October 15, Shore Leave will become a monthly event, expanding to incorporate live music and additional DJs in the Night
Light's newly opened upstairs space.
On October 15 at 9 pm, Shore Leave will welcome Colossal Yes, a project masterminded by Comets On Fire drummer Utrillo Kushner. Colossal Yes' most recent albums is "Loosen The Lead And Spoil The Dogs," a throwback to days when artists crafted records to be listened to as complete albums, embracing unhinged power pop and bleary-eyed classic rock , while channeling the late night, art-with-meaning vibe of early 70’s singer-songwriters. Oakland's Freddy & The Aztecs will open the show.
