Description
"A quart of ale is a dish for a king," Shakespeare wrote in A Winter's Tale. Locals who agree can combine their love of beer and The Bard at ShakesBEERience: Your Way. Included in admission is a themed three-course meal, Shakespeare Bingo and performances of select Shakespearean scenes. Plus, a comedic highlight promises to be "Much Improv About Nothing," where audience members help to create an original, improvised play in Shakespearean style. Proceeds support ShakesBEERienc''s upcoming season of free performances.--- --- ---
This benefit for ShakesBEERience San Jose entitled ShakesBEERience: Your Way is an interactive party of themed food and frivolity. Produced and directed by John McCluggage of Buck Hill Productions, the evening includes a 3-course meal provided by Cafe Stritch, a game of Shakespeare Bingo, Shakespeare Karaoke and highlights of some of Shakespeare’s most famous scenes. Special guest entertainers include ShakesBEERience company regulars and ComedySportz San Jose presenting an extemporaneous performance aptly named "Much Improv About Nothing" where classically trained improvisation masters create an original play in Shakespearean style and language based on suggestions from the audience. It promises to be the funniest play Shakespeare never wrote.
Proceeds from the evening will help underwrite the costs of ShakesBEERience San Jose's 2016 season of free performances opening this October. Tickets to the benefit include dinner, entertainment and much merriment. Cash bar. Recommended for ages 21 and above.
