Description

BANDS FROM DIFFERENT GENRES UNITE IN BAY AREA TO FEED THE SOUL THROUGH MUSIC

(SAN FRANCISCO) - San Francisco's "Stone Soup" concert is set for Friday, March 30th at 9pm at the Rickshaw Stop (155 Fell St., S.F.),

Tickets for the one-night only concert are $10-$12

According to curator Morgan Nilsen, Stone Soup is a story about hungry travelers entering a village. Everyone joins together to cook the soup by adding their unique ingredients to make it plentiful. The soup ends up providing nourishment to the whole community. It is my hope this concert will feed the desire for connection by music and all who attend.

Nilsen has assembled an eclectic group of talent representing music from International genres: Cumbia, Indonesian Gamelan, Balkan Brass, Klezmer, and North African RAI. She is also bridging the bicycle and music communities by planning a bike ride to coincide on the day of the concert starting in the Mission, and having Rock the Bike Pedal Power on stage. "I want to get musicians on bikes, and bicyclists to see an International line-up they might not usually attend" Nilsen states.

The event is supported by Promoter Bay Vibes-who present local music in SF.

The Mega Band Line-up includes:
Gamelan X: Indonesian Bali-Bass & interlocking grooves
Inspector Gadje: Balkan acoustic dance machine that makes the party move!
Cumbia Tokeson: Psychedelic chicha cumbia para ponerte a bailar
DJ Izzy*Wise: Klez-Cumbia Electro-Dub
Mc Rai: Tunisian Rai/International Rockstar

Rock the Bike:Pedal Power:
Pushing the limits of bike culture- gets audiences moving!
