Ross, Derrick Scocchera, Fanny Renoir, Mague Calanche, Romalyn SchmaltzThere is more than one way to paint a picture, tell a story, capture an idea……in fact, in this show, you’ll discover at least seven ways…from the neo-gothic realism of Derrick Scocchera to the intuitive collages of Fanny Renoir…..the swirling figurative canvases of Romalyn Schmaltz to the unique eye of photographer Dennis Hearne…..the bright fluid palette of abstract painter C.J. Ross to the colorfully interpretative mixed media pieces of Mague Calanche…and, lastly, innovative altered books from the “Dissected Library” of Elizabeth Ashcroft along with a selection of her graphite pencil drawings featuring the varied edifices of North Beach.
You will find lots of local “color” - both on the walls and amongst the personalities of this eclectic group of North Beach artists. Elizabeth’s booth in the annual North Beach Festival will be located directly across the avenue from the gallery.
