Saturday Evening, October 6, 5-8PM
Viewpoints Gallery and Taryn Curiel present, Seeing Through Lines an exhibit based on the idea of windows and people. People who are inside or outside the windows. Some shapes are inside in their own world and other shapes are outside trying to see in. Curiel says," I use lines to exemplify the windows and the figures are between the lines---barely visable."
Curiel uses Yupo for her painting surface." I use Yupo because it creates a very different organic texture that gives the paintings a more natural look. This look contrasts to the strong geometrical lines and shapes of the windows." Yupo is an archival, synthetic material with a smooth, finish that allows the artist the opportunity to lay down and pick up color creating layers of interest for the viewer.
