Description
The biennial SECA Art Award honors local artists of exceptional promise with an exhibition at SFMOMA, inclusion in an accompanying catalogue, and a modest cash prize. Winners of the 2006 SECA Art Award are Sarah Cain, Kota Ezawa, Amy Franceschini, Mitzi Pederson, and Leslie Shows, all of whose work will be on view in the 2006 SECA Art Award exhibition. The purpose of the award is to distinguish artists working independently at a high level of artistic maturity and whose work has not yet received substantial recognition.
