Description
For seven years, Jersey rock trio Screaming Females have been making waves in the underground indie rock scene. Their songs have an early Weezer vibe but with way more garage grit. Vocalist and frontwoman Marissa Paternoster howls like a young Siouxsie Sioux, giving their songs an added edgy, raw power. They are an art-punk band that leans heavier into the punk camp, but on the art side there's no shortage of bizarre melodies driving their songs. They are joined by Upset, a new garage-pop group featuring members of Best Coast, Hole and Vivian Girls. (Amulya Datla)
