Description
A historic African American neighborhood, southwest Berkeley features the city's most quirky house, the home of civil rights leader William Byron Rumford, and the Santa Fe railroad right-of-way, as well as spectacular street trees and diverse architecture.This walk is featured in the new edition of Berkeley Walks, co-authored by hike leader Janet Byron and Bob Johnson. It is an easy walk of just over two miles on mostly level ground, and lead by Janet Byron

WHERE TO MEET:
We'll assemble on the northwest corner of Dwight Way and Sacramento Street, in front of the Homemade Cafe, 2454 Sacramento Street, Berkeley. Street parking is available but check signs.
