Description

San Jose Taiko formed in San Jose's Japantown in 1973 and has grown into a dynamic and energizing experience. This year's performance includes new works and arrangements, as well as the same electrifying energy that they are internationally known for. Taiko, the Japanese drum, is an instrument that embodies the spiritual essence of Japanese culture. San Jose Taiko weaves traditional Japanese sounds with other world rhythms such as African, Latin, Filipino, American rock and jazz.
