About David J. Diamant:
At a young age David Diamant was inspired by his cousin, New York urban photographer Mark Feldstein, and took up photography as a hobby. When David was unable to photograph his surroundings, he would write down what he saw in a journal. Often he would accompany the writings with small drawings so that he could more vividly remember what he saw. Eventually the drawings got larger, until the page was dominated by not words but the images he saw around him. David’s journal had inadvertently become a sketchbook. Overtime the sketches would collide with aspects of technology and acrylic paints to create the vibrant style that he now calls his own.
It wasn’t until five years ago that David started calling himself an artist and holding his first solo exhibitions in his hometown of Santa Barbara, CA. On June 1st David will present his latest works from a series entitled “Sunset Surfers” that will be shown at the flagship San Franpsycho shop. David will be displaying 14 pieces out of the full collection of 34 pieces.
Also check out David’s series “Pork On Tap” and ”Tiny Bubbles” now showing at Oreana Winery in Santa Barbara.
“I never know what is going to emerge from my subconscious/pen when I begin to create. I may start with a theme: moods, buildings, bubbles, clocks, conflict, pork, women, smoke, sun, surfers, power, people… I just go.” –
David J. Diamant Three different sizes will be shown and are available for sale: “Ginormous” (48in. wide), “Good Size” (24in. wide) and “Sweet” (10in. wide). The process begins with pen, ink and paper, and ends as museum quality prints on archival paper with archival ink.
