San Francisco’s First Solar Powered Hip-Hop Concert at Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco on September 7, 2008 from Noon to 4:00pm. This unprecedented free event will feature a solar powered bio-diesel truck owned by the Solar Living Institute that will supply power for the entire event. The Solar Powered Hip-Hop Concert will integrate established artists, community leaders, youth and their families under the banner of sustainability and environmental justice.The Solar Powered Hip-Hop Concert, the final event in G4G’s summer eco-awareness series, will showcase the talents of some of the Bay Area’s most talented artists as well the three G4G finalists who will compete for $500 and placement on the upcoming Grind 4 The Green Compilation CD. The audience who will pick the winner. Slated to appear on the bill are Raashan Ahmad of Crown City Rockers, the dynamic FIYAWATA, Jahi, Queen Deelah and Hip-Hop tastemaker DJ Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist of True Skool.
