Martin Machado spends part of every year crossing the oceans as a crew member on container ships, as well as commercial fishing in Alaska. When not at sea, Martin can be found painting in his studio in San Francisco.

Jessica Hamel is a journalist and filmmaker from Santa Cruz, California. A graduate of University of California, Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, she is passionate about finding new ways to tell stories about science and the ocean environment.

Jeronimo Prieto has filmed and produced underwater videos for productions including Untamed Americas from National Geographic Television. This film is his first formal production. He is also founder of Pelagic Life and a professional scuba instructor.

This is Elvis Metcalf’s first venture into documentary filmmaking. She is also currently directing/producing a short comedy for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and will soon graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

This film documents Ben Kneppers and team's Net Positiva initiative, Chile's first-ever fishnet collection and recycling program that removes plastic debris from the ocean while helping create local job growth. Net Positiva supplies recycled raw materials for Bureo Inc., a start-up Ben co-founded that designs and manufactures sustainable skateboards.

J.J. Kelley is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker focusing on conservation and wildlife crime issues. His work has appeared on The National Geographic Channel, NOVA, Outside Television, PBS, and in The New York Times.

Formerly a marine field biologist, Stephani Gordon has filmed around the world for NOAA, National Geographic, PBS, National Park Service, and other organizations. She operates her production company, Open Boat Films, out of Portland, Oregon.

Adam Warmington has been making films for a decade. Originally from the U.K., he came up through the ranks at Aardman Animations and the BBC, and now works as a documentary and commercials director. He now calls the Bay Area home.
