Iconic special guests, a performance preview of Iconic: Season 35, brunch, the annual Champion Awards honoring individuals who have made a difference in the community and silent and live auctions will highlight the kick-off of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus’ 2012-2013 season at Crescendo, a special celebration and benefit Sunday, October 14, beginning at Noon at The Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco. The 300-voice San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC)—an international leader in sustaining and enhancing community through music and activism—and Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Timothy Seelig will be joined by leaders in LGBT rights Dan Savage, popular columnist and founder of the It Gets Better movement empowering LGBT youth; Joe Jervis (Joe.My.God.) political blogger and activist; and composer/author/ producer Andrew Lippa. Savage, Jervis and Randy Arnold of Barefoot Winery will all be honored at the event with 2012 SFGMC Champion Awards. At the center of the afternoon will be a glorious and entertaining preview of selections from SFGMC’s upcoming Iconic: Season 35, which begins with Crescendo and features three additional concert sets with iconic guests, premieres, spirited music and community. The October 14 season preview will feature Renée Lubin, Glenda from Beach Blanket Babylon and other guest performers.
