Roberto and Ruben have grown up around the thriving San Francisco Latin music scene and have been influenced by the sounds and beats of salsa, R&B, Latin big band, classic American jazz as well as the signature Afro-Cuban beat that characterizes the Latin music sound emanating from the Mission District. Both Roberto and Ruben have played with many of the recognized musical groups of the Latin rock and Latin jazz genres, and they’ve played together in several of these bands for the last ten years.Combining and featuring Roberto’s enthralling high energy, Afro-Cuban congas and percussion with Ruben’s American Jazz saxaphone and flute, R & R Jazz brings to the San Francisco bay area a new and sophisticated chapter of the famed Latin music movement.
