Description

Hammond B-3 organist Ronnie Foster bridged the gap between ’60s soul jazz and the ’70s fusion movement. His singular sound on the B-3 set him apart from fellow keyboardists of the era and signaled the rise of a new generation on the instrument. Foster continued to be a presence through the ’70s as a sideman for Grant Green, George Benson, Stanley Clarke, Earl Klugh,Stevie Wonder and many other well-known jazz musicians. In the ’80s and ’90s, he gravitated towards producing and played a key role in recording several popular jazz and pop artists of the time for Will Downing,Stanley Turrentine, Grover Washington, Jr., Latin Pop Superstar Chayanne, Lionel Ritchie,Harvey Mason, and David Sanborn. Often sampled by hip-hop artists Tribe Called Quest,J Cole and many more Foster’s early Blue Note albums still exert an influence on contemporary music makers.

Ronnie was recently Honored for his work by The Jazz Organ Fellowship
with the JOF 2016 LifeTime Achievement Award.

Ronnie and his Trio with Jake Langley on guitar and Jess Gopen on drums have been setting the stage on Fire with "EMOTION EXCITEMENT ENERGY AND PASSION".

All Ages Welcome.
