Description
In this edition of the Museum’s DIY workshop series RitLab, local DIY superstars Lauren Smith and Derek Fagerstrom of the Curiosity Shoppe, take their inspiration from the current exhibitions Do Not Destroy: Trees, Art, and Jewish Thought and California Dreaming: Jewish Life in the Bay Area from the Gold Rush to the Present to show you how to recycle a piece of California history into something useful and eye catching. The creative duo will show you how to transform old Levi’s® and other scrap fabric into a take-along placemat. Use it for a picnic with friends, on an airplane trip, and more. Participants can also enjoy live music with folkie songstress Christine Shields, and get ready for the National Day of Unplugging with a complimentary cell phone sleeping bag provided by Reboot for this year’s “Unplug and Eat Together” initiative.
