Description
Richard T. Walker documents elliptical encounters in the American landscape that record expansive spaces and the human presence within them. His works approach the American West from a perspective equally rooted in nineteenth-century Romanticism, contemporary performance, and low-key irony, to create a consciously mundane and self-doubting majesty. Walker has upcoming solo exhibitions at The Contemporary Austin, Texas; ASU Art Museum, Tempe, Arizona; di Rosa, Napa, California; and has most recently exhibited at James Cohan Gallery, New York. He is currently based in San Francisco.
