Description

Originally from Congo, Afro-Cuban legend Ricardo Lemvo immigrated to LA in the early '70s at the age of 15. He formed his group, Makina Loca, in 1990 and took the L.A. club scene by storm with a striking blend of African rhythms, Salsa and Rumba beats, all boosted up by a crisp brass section. He's since become an international sensation and sings in more languages than most people speak. He just released La Rumba SoYo, his sixth album-and his first in seven years. It has the same level of eclectic African and Latin influences, but the production value is better than ever. (Aaron Carnes)
