Reveal a group show featuring Steven Shearer, Randall Miller, Hava Liberman, jesse eric schmidt and Sung Yoon Kang.Steve Shearer's archive of VHS tapes explores information revealed from an archive of subjectively appropriated material. The videos are accumulated by the artist, but the contents were recorded by an anonymous, unknowing public, who either donated or sold the tapes.
Randall Miller's work uses density, color and translucence to analyze the condition of collective viewership.
Hava Liberman's video was taped clandestinely with a hidden surveillance camera, mimicking the clandestine operations already at work in the gym locker room, a public space where the private is undertaken. In this zone, people surreptitiously observe, evaluate, and compare, and judge the bodies of others and their own, yearning.
