Description

This program is a unique opportunity to move through the landscape and architecture of the Headlands campus to experience three site-specific performances by three current Artists in Residence who pioneer new forms of music and sound composition and performance. Ellen Fullman (AIR ‘08) uses large open performance spaces to string and construct musical instruments that rely on physics to produce melodic fragments that intertwine and unfold. Walter Kitundu (AIR ‘08) creates organically powered, hand-built instruments that respond and act as a link to the resonances of the natural world. Kaffe Matthews (AIR ‘08) uses technology-driven devices to create ambient landscapes, which take the form of installations, real-time performances, and musical scores of city navigation.

$10 Admission, FREE for Headlands members
Program begins in the gymnasium and moves into Building 944
