Masao Suzuki, Professor of Economics at Skyline College, on the impact of teh 1913 and 1920 CA Alien Land Laws, forbidding Japanese immigrants to own or permanently lease land because of their status as "aliens."

Issei: The First Generation "lost" 1984 documentary, rediscovered and restored, about Japanese who, at the turn of the century, immigrated to the West Coast of the United States. These pioneering men and women tell their own stories of struggles and triumphs in a new land. Directed by Toshi Washizu and Narrated by Amy Hill.

Q&A featuring Professor Masao Suzuki; Film Director Toshi Washizu; UCLA's Aratani Endowed Chair/Professor Lane Hirabayashi.
