The Writing Salon, founded in 1999, is a school of creative writing for adults at all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced. We offer small classes of 6 to 13 students held in comfortable, cozy settings complete with fresh-brewed coffee, tea and snacks. We are big enough to provide a wide selection of classes and teachers, but small enough to ensure intimacy and individual attention.Classes range in length. We offer 1-day workshops, 5-week classes, 9-week classes, and even classes that meet only once a month for six months. We offer general introductory classes such as "Intro to Creative Writing," inspirational and generative classes such as "Raw Writing" and "How to Create a Writing Practice," as well as classes/workshops that focus on specific genres, including fiction, poetry, personal essays, memoirs, screenwriting, playwriting, travel writing, food writing, children's book writing, publishing and many more!
Locations in San Francisco and East Bay (Berkeley).
