Description
Brothers John and Charlie are home after multiple deployments in Iraq. Pete is unfit for service after an RPG explodes on his head. Their Commanding Officer struggles to retain humanity and discipline in the face of the suffering in “the cauldron of war.” ReEntry is a docudrama exploring the relationships between Marines and the civilians they must contend with and relate to when they come home. This deeply physical, multi-media production raises many questions about the military as an institution, and the nature of what it truly means to serve.ReEntry contains adult language and themes, and is recommended for middle school and above. No admittance for children under 10.
Gritty City is Oakland's only full-fledged youth theatre company. They use theatre to improve the lives of Oakland’s youth and help them transform into confident young adults.
