Halloween Family Concert — October 28, 2018Children will meet the musicians, learn about the instruments and enter a raffle for a chance to conduct the orchestra!
Ten lucky kids will get a chance to conduct a Sousa march!
After a tour of the orchestra, the symphony will perform Prokofiev: Peter and the Wolf
Also music by Bates, Bernstein, and Haydn The concert lasts about two hours: one hour for the Tour of the Orchestra, and one for the concert.
Our annual Halloween concert over the years has evolved into our most popular concert of the year, with a format uniquely our own, Maestro Eric K said of the event he has hosted for decades. This year it’s titled Devils, Witches and Wolves.
This is certainly the world’s most popular children’s work, Eric K said. Our narrator, the marvelous Debra Lambert, is a singer, actress and head of the Notre Dame de Namur’s Music Department.
Come in costume for this concert!
