Red Hot Roundup at Bay Meadows

Bay Meadows presents Red Hot Roundup on Thursday, October 16th, 5:00pm-8:30pm - a block party featuring popular food trucks dishing up their spiciest fare. The fun includes a spicy food-eating contest, DJs, lawn-games and demos from the San Mateo Fire Department. Interested revelers will get a first-peek into Field House, Bay Meadows’ brand new apartments, which begin leasing in October.

The action all takes place at Paddock Park at Baze Road and Derby Avenue, near the Hillsdale Caltrain stop in San Mateo. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door, with half of the proceeds benefiting AARBF, a burn prevention and education charity championed by the San Mateo Fire Department. Kids under 12 get in for free. Those who purchase tickets in advance will be entered to win a red hot PUBLIC Bike. A limited number of tickets for the spicy food-eating contest is available for $20. Those who dare enter the “Beat the Heat Hellfire Challenge” (eating contest) can fight for bragging rights as they light their taste-buds on fire against San Mateo’s own firefighters. One lucky winner will receive a weekend getaway to Calistoga’s Hot Springs.

Heat up with some of your favorite food trucks, including: Curry Up Now, Red Sauce Meatballs; Bacon Bacon; The Rib Whip; SmotheredInSauce; Naked Chorizo; and Little Green Cyclo. Then cool down with Skylite Snowballs and Frozen Kuhsterd. Wash it all down with a refreshing bevvy at the Popup Beer and Wine Garden provided by San Mateo’s own Grape and Grain.
