The talk will include the diagnostic criteria for major depression, tools for rating depression, review of the common co morbidities in geriatric depression, and treatment options for late life depression.

Dr. Zorica has been practicing psychiatry for 15 + years in different clinical settings. After completion of her Residency in Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University of Cleveland , she did a Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Mental Health and later worked at the Stanford VA Alzheimer’s Diagnostic and Resource Center. She has had experience in treating chronically mentally ill in a County mental health system and Custody mental health.
Dr. Zorica has been in private practice since 2000 treating adults and older adults with anxiety, mood disorders and dementia and teaching and giving presentations in the community with the goal of improving overall community health and reducing the stigma of mental illness. Dr. Zorica in her presentations emphasizes the importance of early recognition and treatment of mental illness in common settings such as school, work and home and gives advise where to seek help in their community.
