(chamber, jazz) This is a hot band, back for another performance on the Climate stage! Two violins, viola, cello, 4 women's voices, chamber music, bluegrass, jazz. Founded by Irene Sazer, an original member of the Turtle Island String Quartet, the music is a stirring mix of genre-hopping originals and arrangements. From Kenyan songs and Brazilian choros to American and Irish fiddle tunes, the group travels the world, voices weaving in and out, percussion and rhythm on string instruments adding spice to the sound.. Jascha always has something new, interesting, and exciting. Let Jascha tell it: The first version of this group performed at the Knockout in San Francisco on December 30th 2006. There was a trombone, clarinet, violin, drums, guitar, bass, me playing keyboard and singing, two more singers, an octogenarian who would talk to me between songs.
Needless to say, this will be a night to remember.
