Description
RAWdance's 2012 Fall Season, "re:framed," brings three world premieres and one reinvented piece to ODC Theater in an investigation of perspective, authorship, and reappropriation. In the experimental new "Double Exposure", luminary artists Joe Goode, Ann Carlson, KT Nelson, and Shinichi & Dana Iova-Koga create four independent duets for Co-Artistic Directors Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein. With no rules other than the time frame, this piece plays with the unpredictability of what happens when each choreographer's offering meets Rein and Smith’s own 14-year choreographic partnership. "Burn In", a moody and dreamlike new trio, borrows inspiration from high-contrast visuals including stark cinematic lighting and rorschach imagery. A lighthearted explosion of energy takes the stage with "66 Measures", which had its origins in RAWdance's CONCEPT series. And "The Beauty Project" takes material from an installation that premiered in 2009 at the SF Westfield mall and re-imagines it for the stage.$28 General Admission
