Description

For two select Sundays in June, as a celebration of Father’s Day, RayKo Photo Center announces the start of a unique portrait service not offered anywhere else commercially in the bay area. The images that are created during these sessions are one-of-a-kind portraits, which cannot be reproduced. The Wet-Plate Collodion process, introduced in 1851, involves coating an enameled metal (Tintype) or glass (Ambrotype) plate with a collodion mixture. These metal or glass plates are sensitized, exposed, and processed while the plate is still wet, so a darkroom must be close by to use this historical photographic technique. Wet-plate Collodion images render exceptional detail and extraordinary subtlety in tone, and they must be seen firsthand to be truly appreciated.

During this special event, customers will receive a 3.25x4.25 original tintype portrait for $100. Sessions will start at 10am and will last about 20 minutes. Call today to make a reservation!
