November being the final month of Stan Kenton's Centennial, Ray (an alumnus of Stan's band in 1971-72) will program a number of Kenton's most well known arrangements to honor Stan's legacy. The band's July appearance at the Stanford Jazz Festival drew a huge appreciative crowd, a standing ovation, and two encores. Expect an unparalleled evening of music by one of the finest big bands of today, and get treated to a rare excursion into the creative world of Stan Kenton.
