Description

Artist Nancy Selvin, whose work is on view in Clay in the Bay, talks about the radical departure from the norm that took place in Bay Area ceramic work during the 1960s and how this direction was in concert with the social and political radicalization of the larger community. The lecture continues with a discussion of the current "academic" lineage and how the original shift in thinking as to what constitutes "ceramic art" is present in today's clay community.
