Steeped in the cultural histories of San Francisco’s African American and Filipino communities, Raissa Simpson’s Push Dance Company premier Bitter Melon, May 25-28, 2012 in Union Square, downtown San Francisco. It features 3D video projection by Ben Wood and his collaborator David Mark onto the historic Dewey Monument. Performed by Push Dancers, the collaborative piece highlights interactions with vibrant video and sound. For 8 years, Union Square Live has been bringing free music, dance, & entertainment to Union Square Park. Established and upcoming artists perform on Wednesdays at 12:30 & 6pm, & Sundays at 2pm. The park is centrally located heart of Downtown SF.
