New York progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater are set to embark on their North American leg of the 2009 "Progressive Nation” tour with Zappa Plays Zappa, Big Elf and Scale the Summit supporting. The tour will make a stop at the San Jose Civic Auditorium on Thursday, August 27 at 6 PM.Dream Theater has announced Black Clouds & Silver Linings as the title of their tenth studio album. The band commenced work on the album - their second for Roadrunner Records, following up 2007's Systematic Chaos - in October of last year. Roadrunner will release the record on June 23.
A grassroots phenomenon for over two decades, Dream Theater continues to record studio albums acclaimed for awardwinning musicianship as well as artistic vision. To meet the demands of a demanding global fan base, the band consisting of James LaBrie, John Myung, John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy and Jordan Rudess maintain an active touring schedule that regularly includes sold-out performances around the world.
