Productivity: A Discussion of Social Meal Space

The third meal and discussion in that Pop-Up Cafe series is on the topic of Productivity, taking place at the Ferry Building Saturday, September 18th, 2010 starting at 5:30pm. Questions for the evening include: How do both production industries and individual industriousness effect meals? Please join special guests Michael Swain, "analog citizen" and member of the group Futurefarmers, and Mary Haak-Frendscho, former-farmer and family.

The Pop-Up Café is a series of open discussions around five aspects of social meal space facilitated by dinner. The past decade has been accompanied by a range of social food projects throughout many fields including the arts. The intention of the Pop-Up Cafe meal and discussion series is to find out why this movement is occurring, and what that means for our lives.The series is presented throughout this fall in several locations across San Francisco. Each of the meals will be in a public place evocative of the discussion theme. Conversations will include the contributions of special guests. The public is invited to participate in this free event with RSVP, dinner starts at 5:30pm and discussion will continue until 7:30pm. All guests are asked to bring their ideas and appetites.
