Description
Swirling, shifting, ethereal fog is a defining characteristic of San Francisco’s environment and a subject of intrigue for meteorologists, writers, and artists. Join the Exploratorium for the West Coast premiere of Sam Green’s "Fog City." Created in collaboration with cinematographer Andy Black, the film offers a poetic view of a complex natural phenomenon that for months each year defines the Bay Area landscape, and is a meditative piece on the mystery and beauty of fog.Following in the tradition of his most recent works, Green presents Fog City as a “live documentary,” narrating and cuing the film live, while the New York–based band The Quavers shares the stage and performs an original score.
On October 2: Enter the Exploratorium through the Museum’s historic Pier 15 bulkhead for this after hours program in the Kanbar Forum.
On October 3: The screenings of Fog City are included with admission to the Exploratorium's adults-only (18 and up) After Dark: Fog event. Seating is limited and a general admission ticket does not guarantee admission to special programs with limited seating. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
