Description
"Cholo Goth" is about as accurate a descriptor as you'll find for Prayers. In fact, you can get a pretty clear idea of what they sound like just by looking at them: Their promotional photos show the San Diego-based duo decked out in black denim, leather and Ray-Bans and brooding over some tombstones. Prayers' doomy, gloomy, synth-heavy songs sound like they were composed on a haunted Casio keyboard. Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is a fan of their weird marriage of early '80s goth, gangster rap and first-wave hardcore. So much so, that he produced and contributed drums to their latest EP, "Young Gods."
