Come celebrate the opening of "Portraits" -- a new collection of mixed-media creations by local artist, Pixelstud. We will also be releasing a limited edition t-shirt designed by Pixelstud, available exclusively at HANGR 16.
Influenced by plastic toys and consumer culture from his childhood, Pixelstud builds alternate, complimentary worlds with his signature process of applying acrylic to canvas with a LEGO brick, layered with objects recycled from SF's city streets -- candy & gum wrappers, shopping lists, jewelry and MUNI passes. In return a sticker is left behind. His latest work, "Portraits," features the unsung who have contributed to humanity on a global scale.
