Portrait Painting Workshop

Description

Bob Semans is a master painter with an enormous body of knowledge and experience. Bob offers a proper introduction into using a palette as means of managing and mixing color. Students will practice painting form by paying special attention to the effects of light and shade in the studio environment.

Study the fundamentals and methodology of portrait painting with a live model. Bob will spend time demonstrating several key steps toward creating a successful portrait painting in oil. This will include posing and lighting the model in the studio; plus developing an accurate drawing and likeness. The workshop will devote time to study the nature of flesh tones and how color changes from light to shadow.

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced
Time: 10am - 5pm

About the Artist:
Robert is an experienced and entertaining teacher, and we are pleased to have him back in our studio once again. Students provide their own brushes and paints. A materials list is provided upon registration.
