MENLO PARK, Calif. -- The Portola Art Gallery presents “Hues and Views” - a collection of Jared Sines’ oil paintings of landscapes and waterscapes from Pacific Grove, California to Ashland, Oregon.
Jared especially enjoys painting water scenes -- from views of the Pacific coastline to inland lakes and streams -- and rural subjects, such as old barns and fields of wildflowers.
The featured paintings in “Hues and Views” are impressionistic in style, in contrast to Jared’s intricately detailed landscapes and still life scenes displayed at the New Masters Gallery in Carmel and the In the Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay.
Explains Jared: “They celebrate the light and shadow, atmosphere and color that reveal the world to us.”
Based in San Mateo, Jared has enjoyed a long career as a fine and commercial artist. He began showing his work at Shreve and Co. in San Francisco at the age of 20, and has been represented by fine California galleries and retail establishments on a continuous basis ever since. Jared studied still life drawing, portraiture, and still life painting at various institutions throughout his formative years, and he earned his degree in fine arts and creative writing from San Francisco State College.
