MENLO PARK, Calif. -- The Portola Art Gallery presents “Aotearoa - A Photographic Journey of New Zealand” by Frances Freyberg.

The vibrant color photographs feature landscapes from across New Zealand’s North and South Islands, including dramatic limestone formations along the West Coast, fields of multicolored lupine in Otago, Waikato’s rolling green hills and stunning sunsets, and the windswept beaches of Northland.

In addition to signed and framed photographs, there will also be a variety of photo cards from additional New Zealand locations including the fiords and waterfalls of Southland, the historic architecture of the Bay of Plenty and the glaciers of the West Coast. Also available for purchase will be Freyberg’s latest book: “Aotearoa - A Photographic Journey of New Zealand.”

Frances Freyberg of Menlo Park specializes in portraits of people, wildlife, nature and architecture from her travels to more than 60 countries. Her photos may be found in galleries and private collections worldwide, as well as online at http://www.francesfreyberg.com. She spent 2008 traveling around the world and building an extensive educational weblog with photos and commentary: http://www.wheresfrances.blogspot.com. Freyberg has traveled many times to New Zealand to visit family and to explore the country; all photos in this exhibit are from her 2006 and 2011 trips.
