Description
UNIQUE CRITIQUE II2nd & 3rd or 3rd & 4th Tuesday
7-9:30 pm
plus 3 half-day writing marathons
(held on Saturday or Sunday afternoons)
Beginning January 15.
Minimum 10 students.
Future dates will be announced first night of class.
This non-traditional critique workshop emphasizes where poems come from and how to express more fully, widely, richly what it is you want to say. While we attend to craft and discuss aspects of language, meter, line and stanza, and publishing, our focus will be on the psychological and spiritual aspects of our work.
You should be open to a leader-led group that takes your creativity and writing seriously. (Highest value placed on group cohesion and mutual respect.) It is good if you have previous group experience. We will meet for one year and consider producing an anthology. (My first group is coming out with Between the Fault Lines: Eight East Bay Poets, this winter.)
You should be committed to attending every session (exceptions due to illness, family emergency, and major vacation).
Sessions are held on either the 2nd & 3rd or 3rd & 4th Tuesdays, 7-9:30 pm, and you will be asked to participate in at least 3 writing marathons to generate new work; these will be scheduled Sunday or Saturday afternoons throughout the year.
$50/month plus $60 per one-day workshops (3 x a year).
No refunds after February 15.
